Art Without Boundaries
Art knows no boundaries; only possibilities.
In this commissioned work for ITC Sonar Bangla, Kolkata, the intricate language of Murshidabad miniature painting meets the spirit of Christmas, creating an unexpected yet seamless dialogue between cultures. The Christmas tree is re imagined, decoded into its most elemental triangular form and abstracted to capture not its literal presence, but its essence. This distilled form becomes a canvas where traditions intersect. Adorned with temple bells and hand-painted ornaments, the work deliberately blurs distinctions. What is often seen as belonging to one faith or culture is re-contextualized, suggesting that celebration, at its core, is universal.
Festivals are for all.
It is only religion that draws boundaries.
Through this piece, I attempt to gently dissolve those lines
to create a space where identities do not divide, but coexist.
